Dr. Michael Livingston, D.P.M grew up in Bellmore, Long Island. He graduated from Wellington C. Mepham High School where he was an all-county baseball player.
Dr. Michael Livingston then attended Brown University where he graduated with a degree in Organizational Behavior and Management and pre-med minor. He was Brown University’s starting centerfielder for four years. He was selected for All Ivy League, All Eastern Intercollegiate League and All New England honors for his athletic accomplishments.
Dr. Livingston then enrolled in the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated as the salutatorian of his class. He did his post graduate training at the prestigious Northern Virginia Podiatric Residency Program, now known as INOVA, which is affiliated with Georgetown University Medical Center, D.C. and Fairfax Hospital, Virginia.
Dr. Michael Livingston was appointed chief resident during his tenure where he was extensively trained in all aspects of foot, ankle and lower leg surgery. Dr. Michael Livingston is fellowship trained in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery of the lower extremity and diabetic limb salvage under the direction of Christopher Attinger, M.D. at Georgetown University Medical Center D.C. Dr. Livingston returned to Long Island to begin private practice.
He has been in private practice for over twenty five years. He is currently the Chairman of the Divison of Podiatry at Northwell Health in Syosset, as well as being their Chief of Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Livingston is also the On-Site Residency Director for advanced foot and ankle surgery at Northwell Health at Syosset. He is one of a limited few podiatrists to possess the Podiatric Advanced Ankle Surgery Privileges in New York State, awarded January 2016. Dr. Michael Livingston is board certified in Foot Surgery and board certified in Reconstructive Rear foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Michael Livingston has joined the scientific advisory board for Tides Medical. Dr. Livingston is participating in a certified study using amniotic tissue grafts to increase wound healing. In addition, Dr. Livingston is part of the development team creating new study protocols to use amniotic tissue to aid in healing tendons and ligaments. Dr. Michael Livingston and Livingston Podiatry believe in using advanced biologics to aid in patient outcomes.
Dr. Michael Livingston is married to his wife Lisa and has six children. His interests are his family, boating, fishing, sports and the outdoors.
